Johnavon started his music education at the age of 4, when his parents discovered he had perfect pitch after accurately humming tunes from a piano music CD and responding to rhythms, and decided to get him started for piano lessons. He went through the Yamaha junior music programmes and began taking ABRSM graded classes. However, he began to began to pursue classical music seriously from the age of 14 due to the exposure of O Level Music (Music Elective Programme)  which allowed him to better appreciate larger musical structures and which kick started a long lasting and deep passion for classical music onwards to the present day. During his studies at O and A Level music, of which he got A1 and A respectively,  he has collaborated with classical singers in accompaniment. As of 2024, he is currently enrolled in NAFA do do a DipMus and subsequently a BMus. He enjoys Counter-Strike and playing badminton in his free time.
